To Whom It May Concern: My family and I have a timeshare at The Driftwood....In the early morning hours of Sunday Aug 6th I called the VBPD because my 12yoa son left the property without adult supervision. Because of the time of night/morning I felt it was best to alert law enforcement. As a parent we sometimes are not wanting to reach out to seek additional help. I am so thankful that I did!! Prior to Officer Robert Young arriving my son returned back to The Driftwood after being gone for approx 40 (very nerving) minutes. I explained to Officer Young the struggles that my son was having. Officer Young then took the time to speak with him.... I appreciate the compassion and time that Officer Young took in doing this and wanted to make sure to commend him for a job well done and going above and beyond his normal duties!!! In this day and age law enforcement officers do not get the recognition they truly deserve... Officer Youngs conversation played out later in the week. My nephews (younger than my 12 yoa)were visiting and it was just getting dark @ 9ish...my sons cousins wanted to go to Humiston Park to play...and before I could open my mouth and say NO...my son piped up and said "It is dark, I don't think its a good idea, let's wait until tomorrow when it is light, because I understand why parents dont want us out after after dark!!!! That statement was a proud moment and thanks to Officer Young my son got it!!!! Again, Thank You Officer Young and for your words of wisdom? Be Safe and thank you for all you did you made a difference!!!

Hit the curb and right front tire ...Flat!! Ofc. Brumley was so kind and caring to this old grandma and actually changed the tire with the spare!!! and stayed with me until I felt secure to drive home. Cheers for the VB police and Ofc Brumely!

 I could not reach my Father, R****  M*****, who resides on the barrier island. I called the Vero Beach Police Department and literally within minutes they assured me that he was safe and would check on him after Hurricane Matthew. In my entire life I have never received such prompt, courteous and diligent service. I thank the Vero Beach Police Department Team for their exemplary community citizen awareness and for my sanity and peace of mind. Thank you - C*** C***

Officer Carden was the instructor for the radKIDS event this past week and I must say, she did phenomenal. My daughter has learned a lot from this course. Not to mention the self esteem boost she now has. Was nice to see interaction with multiple officers throughout and I even took home some good skills as well. Would definitely recommend this to other parents and children. One tip I would suggest to parents is : stay with your child throughout the whole session. I LOVED watching my child learn all of this and I, as the parent, learned a lot with my child. Thank you Vero Beach Police Department for everything you do. - B*** A***
